What is Yoga?

​

I’ve been a yoga practitioner since 2009, learning from the yoga masters themselves in India, Indonesia & the USA. In 2018, I was invited along with a few select students to go learn from the granddaughter of B.K.S Iyengar herself at the Iyengar institute in Pune, India.

 

I’ve been teaching since 2014, and am a member of the Yoga Alliance.

I teach three types of Yoga:

  • Iyengar Yoga - focused on alignment, symmetry and developing the ability to connect with the body and work with it in a more intelligent way

  • Yin Yoga - focused on developing a deeper connection to the self through slow movements that are held for a longer time

  • Vinyasa - focused on faster movement and developing strength in the body

 

The benefits of yoga are endless.

 

On a physical level, it adds flexibility, strength and balance. On a mental level, it helps rest the mind which in turn helps with better sleep and clearer thoughts. And on an emotional level, yoga helps with regulating emotions by allowing us to connect more deeply with them

I only teach private sessions because I believe that there's no one size fits all experience in yoga. Yoga needs to meet you where you are. I spend the first few sessions understanding your individual body and based on that I customize a yoga class that suits your needs best.
